Art Hill > November 8, 2009 Celebration Florida 3 image panorama of Celebration a planned community developed by the Disney organization in 1996. It's a pretty little town with several nice restaurants. We had lunch there yesterday (our last day in Florida). We weren't able to be with Lori and the grandkids as we had planned. As we headed for the airport we thought Lori was better (she caught swine flu) but she had a setback last night. Alas, today is her birthday and she will spend it cooped up in a townhouse in Florida. They had planned to go to the Magic Kingdom all day and end with a character dinner at the Crystal Palace. If you've been following our adventure and want to send her a happy birthday message to lori@loriwilson.com it might cheer her up a bit. Anyway, we're back in Chicago and (fingers crossed) appear to have escaped getting the swine flu. Have a great Sunday.
Art Hill > November 7, 2009 At the Magic Kingdom We had a pretty good day. Both little girls seemed to have recovered. By dinner time though my daughter was burning up. I took her to the hospital and she had a 103.9 temperature. Three hours later after a couple of saline IV's and some Tylenol they sent us home. She caught the swine flu from the girls. So no Epcot today. As I was trying to post this, piercing fire alarms went off all over our condo building so we've been outside at 7:30 in the morning waiting for the fire department. Seems to have been a false alarm. No I can go back around the condo and put the smoke alarms and fire alarms back together. My hearing seems to be returning :-) We head for Chicago today so I won't be online until tomorrow. An interesting vacation for sure. Stay tuned to see if Jill and I get the swine flu.
Art Hill > November 6, 2009 Getting Mickey's autograph We spent the day at Hollywood Studio. Lindsey seems much better, just a little cough. Scarlett was better but still needs another day. We're going back to the Magic Kingdom today.
Art Hill > November 5, 2009 Enchanted Castle Yesterday was to be our day at the Magic Kingdom. Instead, the girls spent all morning at a clinic waiting to see a doctor, get test results, etc. They barely made it to the park for our dinner in the castle and then headed home. Hopefully they will be some better today. We'll go back to the Magic Kingdom tomorrow, we think.
Art Hill > November 4, 2009 France Well, okay, the France pavillion at Disneyworld's Epcot Center. Shot this as we left the park after a fun day. They are having a wine and food festival at Epcot so we had some great things to eat. I'm liking the ISO 6400 capability of this camera. Yes, some noise but I wouldn't have got this shot otherwise. Update: Yes, we're here with two granddaughters. We're heading to the Magic Kingdom in a few minutes. Yesterday they were trying to get over being sick so we were at Epccot by ourselves except for a little while in the afternoon and dinner.
Art Hill > November 3, 2009 Away again We're out of town, didn't get there till late so not really any picture taking opportunities until after dark. I shot this at 6400 ISO since I stuck with handheld. Not too bad though. You'll have to guess where we are until tomorrow when I post something that will give it away. Unfortunately, rainy today but the rest of the week looks good. I won't be able to comment since we'll be out all day but I'll catch up later. Have a great day.
Art Hill > November 2, 2009 Spooky This is the house next door to us. He has always put up the decorations; this year he added a smoke machine. He comes to the door in costume. I showed you my daughter's jack-o-lanterns in progress a couple of days ago. the finised product is here. Art Hill > November 1, 2009 Halloween We got to see all four grandkids by going to Kyle and Braden's and then over to Lindsey and Scarlett's. Kyle and Lindsey both seemed much better by late in the day. It was cold and windy but at least no rain. Thanks for the fantastic response to my pumpkin shot yesterday. It moved to #14 on my most popular photo list. You can see that two-pumpkin guy with a black hat on in the upper right.
Art Hill > October 31, 2009 Happy Halloween My daughter and granddaughters have been hard a work on jack-o-lanterns. Our whole family was supposed to get together last night so I could get pictures of all four grandkids in their costume. My five year old grandson got the swine flu so we couldn't get together. Alas the kids won't even see each other this Halloween. I think, for a little kid, the two times you don't want to be sick are Halloween and Christmas. I don't think Kyle will even get to go trick or treating. Maybe if he has no fever this morning he can make it out for a little while this afternoon. Update: Halloween is deteriorating rapidly for us. Now Lindsey has the fever and cough, Braden seems lethargic. Only Scarlett is okay for now. So, I'm not going to have much in the way of Halloween costume pictures. Our town has a Halloween walk this morning; Lindsey is going to miss that and probably won't be able to trick or treat. Party at her house tonight is cancelled too. Sheesh
