Art Hill > November 7, 2009 At the Magic Kingdom We had a pretty good day. Both little girls seemed to have recovered. By dinner time though my daughter was burning up. I took her to the hospital and she had a 103.9 temperature. Three hours later after a couple of saline IV's and some Tylenol they sent us home. She caught the swine flu from the girls. So no Epcot today. As I was trying to post this, piercing fire alarms went off all over our condo building so we've been outside at 7:30 in the morning waiting for the fire department. Seems to have been a false alarm. No I can go back around the condo and put the smoke alarms and fire alarms back together. My hearing seems to be returning :-) We head for Chicago today so I won't be online until tomorrow. An interesting vacation for sure. Stay tuned to see if Jill and I get the swine flu.
Art Hill > October 13, 2009 That's a lot of pumpkins We spent the day with our 5 year old grandson Kyle. He and my wife are looking at a house on La Grange Road near out library. They have about 100 pumpkins set out in front of the house. And look at those big spiders on the front of the house.

Art Hill > September 27, 2009 My Family We went to my niece's wedding. It's pretty rare for the six of us to get together without grandkids. Many of you have seen the grandkids so I thought I'd show off my daughters and my wife. I have two great son-in-laws too; we feel like they are our sons.
Art Hill > July 26, 2009 Back from our anniversary celebration. We had a wonderful time in downtown Chicago with a cruise on the tall ship Windy last night and lots of just enjoying the wonderful weather and incredible sights of Chicago. This is a picture of us out by the planetarium just before we drove home. The picture in the bottom left corner is one from July 25, 1998. It was with my first digital camera, a 1 megapixel Kodak. I had only had the camera for three weeks when we went downtown for our 28th anniversary. I did not shrink the picture at all - just pasted it in today's picture. I don't expect very many people will see this since I'm posting it so late but I wanted get something up today. Art Hill > July 25, 2009 Our wedding day 39 years ago Today is our 39th anniversary. To celebrate we're going to stay overnight at the Chicago Hyatt and take a tall ship dinner cruise on Lake Michigan. My wife gave me the tall ship dinner cruise tickets for my birthday and my kids gave us the overnight at the Hyatt. Yesterday we had everybody over and the kids gave us a gift certificate for brunch at the Hyatt tomorrow morning. I feel quite blessed. Not taking my laptop so I won't be able to post tomorrow until late and won't be able to comment.
Art Hill > March 8, 2009 Lindsey and Grandma We went to 4 year old Lindsey's first dance recital yesterday. I let my daughter use my camera because she had a front row seat so I didn't take any pictures of the recital. Afterwards we went out for pizza and I got this shot of my wife and granddaughter. Ever since Lindsey was about a year old we get so many comments that she and Jill look alike. We get this from store clerks, people who just see the pictures, family, you name it. Anyway the recital was a lot of fun. After Lindsey's group performed all of the rest of the little girls trouped offstage. Lindsey walked out to the front of the stage, held her hand up to shield her eyes from the spotlights and scanned the audience for her Dad and grandparents. When she spotted us she broke into a big smile and waved at us. The whole auditorium was amused.
Art Hill > February 9, 2009 Our family circa 1981 Not sure exactly when this picture was taken but 80-82 would be about right. We're sitting in my parents back yard in California; we visited them every year. Was looking through some old pictures and found this and a couple of other 8X10's from that time so had to scan them in.
