Art Hill > May 4, 2009 Chocolate cup
We had dinner at the Perry Street Brasserie in Galena. We were NOT planning to have dessert but after our server described this we caved in. "A bowl of solid Swiss chocolate, filled with creamy dark and milk chocolate ganaches. Topped with fresh whipped cream , chocolate butterfly." The chef came out and explained how he makes this. He dips a balloon in warm dark chocolate, puts it in the fridge and pops the balloon when the chocolate hardens. He also showed us the patter he uses to make the butterflies. I'm telling you this was good!
Art Hill > April 12, 2009 Happy Easter
These are cupcakes my wife made yesterday to take to my daughter's house today for our Easter brunch. I can't wait to try one.
Art Hill > August 3, 2009 Lunch
We walked around Long Grove and had lunch. Didn't find much to shoot and the sun was kinda bright but grabbed a couple shots of this bee on some cone flowers. Thanks so much for all the response on my last couple of posts.
Art Hill > July 5, 2009 Lisle Balloon Festival
The first hot air balloon event I've ever been to. Got quite a few pictures of course but will only post a couple here. The rest are at

Art Hill > November 18, 2008 A swan at the Maui Hyatt
Art Hill > July 8, 2009 Pink Beauty
A water lily in our pond. I get such a kick out of going out to the pond each morning to see what flowers have bloomed.
Art Hill > April 13, 2009 Jill and I
My wife and I in my daughter's backyard. We went to my daughter's for Easter Brunch. It was a little cool outside but we all went out any way to enjoy the sunshine.
Art Hill > February 8, 2009 What a difference a day makes
We drove up to Lake Geneva Wisconsin yesterday to see the snow sculpture contest. What they didn't bargain for was a temperature of 52 degrees. It was a shame. All of these elaborate sculptures were turning into puddles right before your eyes. None of them looked good and the worst of the lot were completely unrecognizable by the time we saw them around 2PM. There's always next year. And to think that January was the coldest on record.
Art Hill > April 25, 2009 May the road rise up to meet you
And with this post I'm closing this series on Route 66. Thanks to all of you who have made so many nice comments. I hope I've been able to give you a flavor of The Mother Road and inspired one or two of you to get out on an historic road near you.

May the wind be at your back.
