September 10, 2008 There are street vendors all over New York City. A few sell ties. I just thought this would make an interesting image.

  • September 21, 2008 I had driven by this group of giant sunflowers so many times but never stopped or never had my camera. I went there yesterday and found that most of them were drooped over or otherwise in bad shape. This one was two feet above my head. It's not the pristine specimen I was hoping for but I got the bee coming in as a bonus. And this was a one shot deal. I saw the bee in the viewfinder just as I was about to squeeze the shutter button.
  • September 20, 2008 Just another little rose from the park behind our house. On my morning walk.
  • September 19, 2008 In the park behind our house, on my morning walk. I've put a bunch of the flowers I encounter around the neighborhood in<br />

  • September 17, 2008 In the park behind our house.
  • September 16, 2008 There's just nothing quite like a red rose. Haven't got out much and haven't seen much so shot this from a bunch I brought home on Saturday for my wife.
  • September 15, 2008 After the rain finally stopped we went out - drove by a friends house nearby. This is their backyard. We were supposed to have our Sunday School picnic there next weekend and they had said it was doubtful. That structure in the distance is where they have their barbeque. We made out much better - our pond almost overflowed but didn't quite. Record rain in the Chicago area over the weekend. Cook County is officially a disaster area. Next 5 days should be dry. Put a few more pics including some of our yard here<br />

  • September 14, 2008 Yesterday afternoon near the railroad tracks in Hinsdale. I've never seen anything like this before. I learned on the news that yesterday was the most rain in 24 hours ever so maybe that's why. And we're getting a lot more rain today.
  • September 13, 2008 Columbus Circle - New York City. Shot from the 4th floor of the Time-Warner Center. That's the southwest corner of Central Park on the left. The street down the cneter is Central Park South aka 59th Street. This was Saturday morning - Hurricane Hana was on the way so it was hot and muggy and the sky was awful for pictures. I took a lot of standard shots of stuff you've seen before so I've been trying to post a few things that are a little different. We're in for three days of miserable weather here so I'll keep using some of my New York stuff.
  • September 12, 2008 Rock Center Cafe in New York City at the Rockefeller Center. We had dinner there Friday night and sat right next to the fountain on the left. You've probably seen this on TV in the winter when they turn it into an ice rink. The area to the right in this picture is called the Rink Bar.
  • September 11, 2008 Our cats, Jake and Joey. They are brothers - 11 years old. We got them from a shelter when they were just a few weeks old. They are great buddies and most mornings look out our front window like this. I used to shoot a lot of pictures of them (before grandkids) but not much lately. I like this one - it represents how close they are.

  • September 9, 2008. We're back from our Friday-Monday trip to New York. Saturday morning we had breakfast at the Boathouse in Central Park appearing in the background of the shot of Bethesda Fountain. Bethesda Fountain rises high above Bethesda Terrace, <br />
looking over the hundreds of visitors that come every day to enjoy the view of the Lake and relax at the "heart" of the Central Park. The sculpture that tops it, Angel of Waters, was designed by Emma Stebbins in 1873 and is one of the most recognizable icons in the entire park.<br />
Besides being a favorite destination of park visitors in search of a cool place to spend a summer afternoon The Fountain is also a celebrity in its own right. It has probably appeared in more movies than any other monument in the park.
  • September 5, 2008 Hollyhock on my morning walk. Will be away for 4 days with no computer.
  • September 4, 2008 Just some berries from a tree I pass on my morning walk.
  • September 3, 2008 On my morning walk. Was trying to shoot the bee but this fly insisted on having its picture taken too. :-)
  • September 2, 2008 On our deck. The bush has lost most of it's leaves but is still producing a few flowers. Not going to have these much longer :-(<br />
The background is just our lawn out of focus.
  • September 1, 2008 Waterlily in our pond.
  • August 31, 2008 At Brookfield Zoo. Jill and I were babysitting the boys for the weekend so we met Lori and my two granddaughters at the zoo.
  • August 30, 2008 Chicago skyline from the Odyssey cruise boat
  • August 29, 2008 Chicago Skyline at night. We went out on a dinner cruise last night for work. Grabbed this shot from the boat 1/4 second handheld

Cool image. At first I was wondering why a color checker passport would be so popular. LOL....you got me there. Nicely done image.

I see what you mean Art - repetitive pattern, the one inconsistency standing out. I like the colors in this - good find.
    Thanks for all the comments.
